Bridesmaid Proposal Ideas & Gifts

Bridesmaid proposals are such an exciting time but it can be difficult to know what to gift/pop inside a bridesmaid box. Since I shared my bridesmaid proposal box on my Instagram, I’ve had a lot of messages asking for inspiration & ideas, so I have put together this blog post to help.

Firstly, I just want to say that there definitely isn’t any pressure or expectation to give a present or create a box, as I’m sure you’ll want to be allocating as much to the big day as possible. However, if you are budgeting in for some bridesmaid proposal boxes, or a lovely memory around it then I’ve popped everything below that I used & also considered.

These boxes/gifts can really depend on your budget and also the amount of bridesmaids you have. If you have one or two bridesmaids, you may decide to spend a little bit more and buy a number of things for the box, such as a candle, bridesmaid pouch & a bottle of champagne. If you have a lot of bridesmaids, you may want to have a card and a small bunch of dried flowers for them. Definitely don’t feel under any pressure to make your boxes full of expensive things, as your closest friends/family will just be overjoyed they get to be your bridesmaid & such a big part of your wedding!

I also think this is a great time to support smaller/local businesses, whether it’s via Etsy or if you have any florists or sweet treats/bakeries nearby that you can order from, it’s great to support places that can also add to the ‘made with love’ feel of you bridesmaid boxes.

If you also feel comfortable to, I think creating a lovely memory around your bridesmaid proposal is a great idea too. You may decide to take all your bridesmaids out for a bottomless brunch and ask them all at the same time, or you could take each one out for breakfast/lunch individually over a few months and ask them there with a card. You could opt to spend money on a memory, rather than material items for a box/gift.
