Best Breakfasts in Manchester

Going out for breakfast is one of my favourite things to do, especially in Manchester as I love all the independent coffee shops all around the Northern Quarter, so I thought I would list a few of my favourites here if you’re looking for somewhere for brunch, or even just somewhere to head for a coffee:

Ezra and Gil - Located in the Northern Quarter, and one of the biggest of the ones mentioned, this has such a cosy but productive vibe - lots of people on laptops or having work meetings, but also full of people catching up and enjoying good food. The menu is massive with a wide range of choice - and I’ve never not had a good meal here! You can also buy fresh fruit and veg here which I love. I always grab a window seat and watch the world go by.

TAKK - Also in the Northern Quarter, on Tariff Street is Takk. Smaller than Ezra and Gil, but a really nice vibe, with one big long table in the middle and lots of small old fashioned desks as tables too. The coffee here is gorgeous, and the food, although a relatively small menu, is really bloody good. The TAKK sandwich is my favourite here!

Mackie Mayor - in the Northern Quarter again, (most of the best spots in Manchester are), this is an amazing building with loads of different food stalls. This place always has such a good atmosphere and I love how you can eat here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and also theres a bar section too!

Moose Cafe - This one is on York Street, just behind Primark and reminds me of an American diner. Amazing for pancakes! The wait for a table in here is normally pretty big but definitely worth the wait!

Federal Cafe - I haven't eaten here yet, but I’ve heard amazing things. A similar atmosphere to the above two, but with a more industrial vibe. It also does evening cocktails too.

Evelyn’s - Another one I haven’t been to yet but wanted to include. Evelyn’s is in the Northern Quarter on Tip Street, and does everything from Coffee, Brunch, Dinner and Drinks. The interior in here is really cool, lots of greenery and rustic decor, definitely very instagrammable.
